Seashells

No more seashells on the beach.
The ocean gifted me a blue toothbrush,
caked with sand- gritty toothpaste.
The ocean gifted me a single flip-flop,
longing for its foam lover.
The ocean gifted me mounds of kelp,
crab skeletons entwined in death.
The ocean regifted all of our gifts,
but never a seashell.
